How It Works

Book An Appointment

Schedule your initial or follow-up appointment with DocMJ on a day and time that is convenient for you. Check the qualifying health conditions list to ensure you have a diagnosis that makes you eligible for a medical card. We provide a 100% money-back guarantee if you do not qualify.

Meet With a Doctor

You will receive an email link for your telemedicine appointment. A friendly DocMJ doctor will consult with you and talk about your symptoms, medications, and wellness goals. This is also an excellent opportunity to ask questions about adding MMJ to your treatment plan.

Get Approved

If the physician approves your condition and symptoms, you will receive a letter of recommendation. If approved, the patient will receive the Low THC Oil Waiver via email.

This form must be signed and notarized. Patients are then required to return the form to DocMJ.

Email: georgia@docmj.com
Fax: (888) 778-2409

If approved, the Georgia Department of Health Office of Vital Records will contact the patient via email and provides directions to the nearest Public Health office to pick up the Low-THC Oil Registry Card. There are twenty (20) locations where patients may pick up their medical card.

After the Georgia DPH has reviewed your medical card application, you will receive an email response. The email will direct you to the DPH location to pick up your medical card in person. On average, it takes fifteen (15) days to process.

FAQ

How old must you be to get a Georgia medical card?
Patients must be eighteen or older, with a recent diagnosis of one (or more than one) qualifying health condition to apply for a Georgia medical card. Minors require a registered parent or guardian caregiver before they may participate in the MMJ program.
How often do I have to renew my Georgia medical card?
The MMJ card in Georgia must be renewed every two (2) years for the patient to purchase and possess products from a licensed dispensary. However, patients are required to schedule an annual follow-up appointment with the physician to review or update the recommendation.

If a medical card expires, the patient must re-apply and receive a new recommendation from a licensed doctor. And pay the registration fee again.

How much does a Georgia medical card cost?
There are two fees that patients must pay to get a Georgia medical card. The first is the appointment fee for the physician. DocMJ provides patient appointments for $169. We offer discounts to military veterans.

The second fee is $25, payable to the Georgia Department of Public Health. The registration fee is the same for adult patients, minors, and caregivers.

Can I get a medical card if I am under 18?
Minors with qualifying health conditions may be eligible to join the patient registry and receive a Georgia medical card. However, a parent or legal guardian must apply with the minor as a designated caregiver. The child and the caregiver must join the registry together.
What if I lose my Georgia Medical Card?
Patients must contact the Georgia State Office of Vital Records (404) 679-4702 and press Option #4 to request a replacement medical card. There is a $25 charge to get a new Georgia medical card.
